San Juan is unique amongst Caribbeanisland cruise ports. It is a major city just like you find on themainland of North America or Europe. It dwarfs the other Caribbeanisland cruise ports.

Spring has finally come to thenortheastern United States. Leaves are on the trees and theflowering plants are in bloom.
With the Spring, the northeasterncruising season begins. Ships come up from their winter bases inFlorida and the ships that stay the winter in the northeast start tochange their itineraries to include places like Bermuda, Canada andNew England.
Queen Mary 2 transatlantic Pics
I have recently returned from a trip toEurope by sea. I traveled over to the United Kingdom on the QueenMary 2 and I returned on Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas. In between the two crossings, I did a cruise around the British Isleson Ocean Princess.
If you have the time, transatlanticcrossings are a great way to get to and from Europe. Air travel hasbecome notorious for its hassles and delays. In contrast, travelingby sea is a relaxing and memorable experience.
A transatlantic crossing, however, isdifferent than a cruise. There are more sea days and the seasometimes can be more turbulent than on a cruise. But most peoplefind that there is more to do on a crossing than there is availabletime. Also, modern ships are good at handling the weather.
